| NEW Solicitors' 2009/2010 Professional Indemnity |
The forthcoming renewal of Solicitors' Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) is predicted to be extremely challenging. The key drivers for this are an increase in claims against Practices and, in particular, a significant increase in claim notifications and settlements in the area of conveyancing.
As the largest insurance broker in the world and adviser to several hundred law firms throughout Ireland, we have secured agreement from leading insurers to give preferential terms to Marsh clients, and in particular those who can demonstrate a pro-active approach to risk management.
Marsh has produced a Proposal Form and Supplementary Risk Management Questionnaire which will allow you to differentiate your risk and enable Marsh to obtain the best rates on your behalf.
To obtain a very competitive quote, and favourable terms for your forthcoming Professional Indemnity renewal, simply download and complete these forms, and return them to us (instructions on the reverse of the main proposal form).

| Online Architects' Professional Indemnity Facility |
Marsh is pleased to announce an exclusive new facility for RIAI architects.
RIAI members can log on via the link above, obtain a quotation, bind cover and pay their premium by credit card online. All documentation including the invoice, policy documents and confirmation of insurance letter are instantly emailed to the architect once cover is bound with the premium paid online via credit card.
The premiums are very competitive and the product is specifically aimed at smaller RIAI practices with an annual fee income of less than €60,000 per annum excluding VAT. There is also an option for members to purchase Employers and Public Liability cover as an "add on" at very competitive additional premiums which will be particularly useful for members undertaking BER Assessments.
The policy is underwritten 100% by underwriters at Lloyd's and provided via RIAI Insurance Services Ltd.
For more information, please contact a member of our FinPro team on 01 604 8100. |
Ireland’s economic base has changed dramatically in recent times, from one mainly centred on manufacturing, to one of service provision.
As a result, many more companies – and individuals – carry a professional liability exposure, in addition to the traditional professions such as accountancy, law and medicine.
The huge variety of services relating to information technology, and the global phenomenon of outsourcing, are examples of where the loss or corruption of data could lead to a professional negligence claim.
In a world of increasing litigation, architects, surveyors, engineers, estate agents, valuers, insurance brokers, solicitors, stock brokers, fund managers and medical professionals are just some of the groups that should be more concerned about the professional liability exposure that arises when they perform services on behalf of their clients.
The need for sufficient professional indemnity cover has never been greater.
Marsh has a global professions practice dedicated to servicing the needs of our professional clients. As a professional services firm ourselves, we recognise that professional services firms require a level of service, technical knowledge, and sector experience that is second to none.
